Here is my Wild West Show series. I decided to take 3 of my illustration teachers and make wanted posters out of them. I wanted to make them into fun characters that had an old west style nick name and crimes that fit their personality. I did them all in watercolor on paper with a limited pallet of just 3 colors to give them that old style look. I also did all the text by hand in watercolor. I did this so when they hang in the show everyone can see the original paintings, I really didn't want to scan them and have to do the type in photoshop and then spend endless hours trying to get the perfect printout. It was more work, but I really enjoy the handmade look to the finish and how the letter fade on some words. I think it was worth it.
I had a lot of fun working on this project. I was really happy that Fred, Kelly, and Elissa were so helpful and so willing to pose in creative and fun ways for the photos I needed to do this project. I was surprised that they were so willing and not afraid to let loose. It really meant a lot to me :)
